Welcome to the 2021 Sponsor program
Update: All children have been sponsored for the 2020-2021 school year. Thank you so much for your support. Our hearts are full! The sponsorship is our program that guarantees our teachers get paid year round and the student can attend the school but there are many other needs to improve the school. We accept donations any time to help us with these needs.
We are so grateful for your interest in sponsoring the children of the Hundee Ibsaa Elementary School in Ethiopia! Whether you’re a new or returning sponsor, please know that we are careful with every dollar and apply everything to benefit the students and teachers of the Hundee Ibsaa Elementary School.
The cost to sponsor a child for 2021 is $50 per child and here is what your support contributes to:
Teacher pay: We pay our teachers year round, no matter the circumstances, and we’re giving a slight raise to our teachers this year.
A third teacher: With the new room, we’ve also hired a third teacher to help with our expanded capacity.
Student backpacks: Each child receives a backpack filled with school supplies.
School uniforms: Each child also receives two sets of uniforms.
Masks: We found someone in Ethiopia to make masks for all of the children.
Student photos
Normally the Pangaea Foundation sends a small team to Ethiopia to deliver supplies and get photos of the students, but due to the 2020 challenges, travel restrictions, and internet blackouts, it has been difficult. We are relying on the teachers to get the student photos this year, and will use last year’s photos for returning students. Luckily we have received photos of most of our new students as of November 30th but a few are missing and we’ll only be able to provide their name, age, and gender until we’re able to get their photos.
Sponsor instructions
As usual, we’re opening our sponsorship program a week early for returning sponsors. Here’s what you need to do to sponsor a child:
Click on the link below to view the names and photos of the children who haven’t been sponsored (some new students don’t have photos yet).
Choose a child to sponsor.
Submit the following info through the form below: The name of the child you want to sponsor, your name, your email, and your physical address.
Be sure to hit the send button.
If you are sponsoring more than one child, complete the form and send for each one.
Choose your form of payment. Only one payment is necessary if sponsoring more than one child.
Watch for an email coming soon with more info about the child you are sponsoring.
Email us a photo (of you or your family) that we can send to the child you are sponsoring.
